How to Join as a Student Member

GMA SHRM is proud to announce its new Student Membership Program! GMA SHRM provides a discounted membership of only $20 to students enrolled in HR programs (minimum of 5 credits) at an undergraduate or 2-year community or technical college.  
 
What is a Student Membership?
GMA SHRM believes fostering a relationship with local students will provide them an opportunity to connect with local HR professionals while creating numerous opportunities to assist them in their future job search. 
GMA SHRM provides a discounted membership to students enrolled in HR programs (minimum of 5 credits) at an undergraduate or 2-year community or technical college. 
  • One time Membership fee is $20 and covers Student Membership thru anticipated graduation date.
  • $15 processing fee is waived for Student Members.
Who qualifies for Student Membership?
Students enrolled in HR programs (minimum of 5 credits)  HR programs at an undergraduate or 2-year community or technical college, or students enrolled in enrolled in HR programs or Business Program with an HR emphasis (minimum of 5 credits). 
 
What benefits are included?
Student membership will allow students the same access to all events, programming, communications and resources available to regular local members.

Process, Terms, and Rules:
Student applicant must provide proof of enrollment (minimum of 5 credits) in HR programs at an undergraduate or 2-year community or technical college. 
  • GMA SHRM reserves the right to request proof of enrollment at any time.
  • Student must be member of student HR Club or Student SHRM chapter if one is available.
  • Students will be added to the GMA SHRM member roster as a “Student” member type and remain a student member thru their anticipated graduation date. 
  • Anticipated graduation date or term cannot exceed 3 years from application date. 
  • No dues renewals will be sent.
  • Student members approaching their graduation date could be contacted by committee regarding continuing as a regular member.
  • Student members shall not have voting rights and cannot hold a Board of Directors position within GMA SHRM.
