Presentation Description

Formerly known as the Wednesday In The Park, the new “My GMA SHRM Toolbox” sessions are geared to provide HR professionals at all levels an opportunity to further their learning in the core areas of Human Resources.  The Toolbox session is meant to be a facilitated & interactive discussion to assist in this learning experience.

 

Do your employees know what diversity really is? Does your organization actively train employees on diversity? Are employees engaged in your corporate diversity?

 

During the August Toolbox session, Rhonda Schemm HR Supervisor with Network Engineering Technologies and Diversity Facilitator, will explore the topic of diversity and discuss what diversity truly means and how incorporating diversity into your corporate culture can beneficial for all stakeholders, employers, employees and customers.

 

Additionally, the program will discuss the following learning topics:

 

  • Employees in all shapes & sizes - what's different and what's the same

 

  • Diversity - The organizational perspective

 

  • Risks associated with not addressing diversity

 

  • Benefits of addressing diversity

 

  • Employee engagement

 

 

Our Presenter -

 

Rhonda Schemm has worked in Human Resources for nearly 8 years and started her career locally with Parts Now. Rhonda currently is the HR Supervisor at Network Engineering Technologies and focuses her energies on building a modern Human Resources Department.

 

Rhonda has always had a strong interest in diversity and was trained to be a Diversity Facilitator by Gladis Benevidas of Benevidas Enterprises of Madison.

 

Rhonda is the GMA SHRM Workforce Readiness and Diversity Committee Chairperson. In addition to her involvement with GMA SHRM, she is also a member of the Herzing University Advisory Board and a member the National Association of Professional Women.
