As a valued member of GMA SHRM, your involvement in the selection of the Board of Directors is vital to our chapter's success. The Nominations Committee sincerely requests your help in identifying potential candidates for the Board. Your input is highly valued in shaping the future leadership of our chapter.

Nominations are being accepted for these 2026-2027 term Vice President and Director board positions:

  • Vice President, Programming 
    • Director of Professional Development Summits 
    • Director of Human Capital Conference
    • Director of SHRM Certification
  • Vice President, Membership
    • Director of Volunteer Engagement
    • Director of Retention and Recruitment 
  • Vice President, Communications 
    • Director of Media Relations  
    • Director of Government Affairs
  • Vice President, Finance
    • Director of Corporate Relations
    • Director of Compensation Surveys  
  • Vice President, Community Outreach
    • Director of College Relations
    • Director of Workforce Readiness
    • Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
  • President Elect 

The Nominations Committee will evaluate nominated candidates based on the following criteria:
  • Interest and Capacity: Assessing the nominee's interest and ability to fulfill the obligations of the position they are being considered for.
  • Experience: Reviewing the candidate's experience, as outlined in their survey responses. This includes evaluating leadership/management experience and any history of volunteering with GMA SHRM.
  • Interview Responses: Considering verbal responses to questions posed during the interview process to gauge communication skills and alignment with the chapter's objectives.
  • Alignment with Values: Evaluating the nominee's demonstrated support and alignment with GMA SHRM values.
  • Membership Status: Ensuring that candidates are GMA SHRM members in good standing.
  • Unique Qualifications: Taking into account any other considerations that indicate a candidate's unique qualifications and suitability for serving on the Board of Directors.


Self-nominations and recommendations are open now through Friday, February 10. 

The Nominating Committee will be recommending a "Slate of Candidates" to the membership. The committee will recommend one candidate per position to the membership. The elected candidates will take office on July 1, 2026. 

The Board of Directors is made up of 19 members. The current President will become the Past-President and current President-Elect will be named the 2026-2027 GMA SHRM President.
 

Serving on the Board is a highly rewarding experience with numerous benefits. I encourage anyone interested in playing a larger role in the future of GMA SHRM to consider applying. It's an opportunity to collaborate with a fantastic group of leaders, contributing to a meaningful mission.
