Major customers have gone to competitors, donor support has dwindled, strategic steps were missteps, costs have risen to unmanageable levels, the recession economy… Whatever the reasons, downsizing or “right sizing” is a critical time for the HR function to be involved in managing the process, logistics and communications. You are invited to share your experiences and insights.
SHRM members who have assisted their organizations with downsizing will be present for our round table discussion. Our FacilitatorsCory Erickson, SPHR, a co-owner of Career Momentum, previously held progressively responsible HR positions with Hormel, Maytag, WE Energies, LakeShore, and Thermo Fisher Scientific. His last role with Thermo Fisher was Director, Human Resources where he worked for 20 years. There, he drove succession planning and leadership development for the molecular spectroscopy business unit. A member of SHRM and a previous GMASHRM Board Member, Cory holds a BBA in HR management from UW-Madison.
Mary Jo Spiekerman, SPHR is Vice President of Human Resources at Hausmann-Johnson Insurance, Inc. In this role she consults on human resources topics for clients of the firm and also heads internal human resources activities. She has over 20 years of management and human resources experience in the banking, insurance, healthcare and professional services industries. A member of SHRM, GMASHRM and the Blackhawk Human Resources Association, she is a graduate of Marion University of Fond du Lac with a degree in Business Administration and Human Relations.
