Programming Areas of Volunteerism

Programming Member: Members of the programming committee are asked to contribute ideas to develop the programming schedule; work with the Talent Management and Event Coordination chairs of the Programming Committee to develop successful events; research and contact potential speakers and then work with these speakers to refine the program title, description, speaker bio, and AV requirements; coordinate with Chapter Administration to ensure that Chapter Administration has all that it needs to support the event — including information for getting SHRM and HRCI credit approval and session materials; work with Communication and Marketing Committee members to promote each event; coordinate with the speaker to arrange for handouts and PowerPoint slides to support the event; attend each programming event the Committee member is responsible for; and, for HR Roundtables, facilitate or coordinate the facilitation of the event.

Event Coordination Chair: Responsible for ensuring smooth programming event planning and execution by providing useful event coordination tools and resources to committee members; ensuring timelines for SHRM and HRCI pre-approval and event promotion are met; follow-up with event coordinators on preparation and close of events.

Talent Management Chair: Responsible for maintaining all incoming Calls for Presentation; maintains a database of prospective speakers (based upon CFP submissions, the WISHRM speaker database, and national SHRM speaker database); acts as a single-point-of-contact for Committee members who are seeking speakers; tracks and reports on event/speaker evaluations following each event; based on programming and annual evaluations, makes suggestions for future programs and speakers to fulfill the programming needs of GMA SHRM.
