Philanthropy Committee
Purpose: This committee coordinates philanthropic work of the Chapter which may include work supporting one or more charitable organizations in the local community. The committee investigates and makes recommendations regarding organizations the Chapter will support. The committee brings awareness of the designated charitable organization(s) to Chapter members and finds ways in which Chapter members can participate in supporting the designated charitable organization(s).
Activities: The committee facilitates activities on a monthly or periodic basis that support awareness and/or charitable support of the designated organization(s). This may include submitting articles for the HR InTouch newsletter, coordinating donations at monthly Chapter events, and organizing special events (such as the annual Golf Outing). Activities vary depending upon the opportunities available specific to the charitable organization(s) that are supported each year.
Time Commitment: The committee meets once every other month and more frequently if needed for special event planning. Some of the committee work is done via e-mail and telephone. Volunteer opportunities are available for short-term as well as on-going participation.
