Presentation Description
Statistics show that 49% of employees that provide care for an older family member (i.e., family caregivers) will move from full- to part-time work, quit, or retire early because of care giving responsibilities with another 22% at the very least needing to take a leave of absence. As the number of people 60+ increases, so does the number of employees who are caring for an older relative.
The September GMA SHRM PEG explores how human resource professionals can increase their understanding of the workplace issues associated with the growing number of employees who are juggling jobs and caregiving.
Our Presenter - Claire Culburtson
Claire Culbertson, a Caregiver Coordinator with the Dane County Human Service’s Division of the Area Agency of Aging, will facilitate a discussion with Human Resources Professionals to share ideas, programs and resources available to assist employers be better prepared to support their employee caregivers through creating a caregiver friendly work environment.
