Developing your talent pipeline today will enable you to be more successful tomorrow; sounds easy right? Well as you may know it’s not that simple.
Many businesses have felt the pressures from the economy which has forced businesses to revise their strategies and make decisions on their talent.
Other businesses have faced challenges of an aging workforce and face the threat of losing a portion of their knowledge and skill base.
Either way many employers have begun to implement talent management and leadership development efforts as they face the prospects of losing key employees in leadership and other critical roles that have become the foundation of the knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) that lead their operations.
The July GMA SHRM Summit will give you the opportunity to hear from two different sources of information regarding best practices and strategies you can use to support your talent management challenges.
The first part of the July Summit will be lead by Kim Lamoureux, a principal analyst with Bersin and Associates, a research and consulting firm, as she reviews current trends in succession management and leadership development and addresses the necessary alignment between these core functions to ensure long-term business success. Through recent research, Kim will
Provide a holistic overview of Talent Management
Report key findings from Bersin and Associates’ more recent research
Summarize the key features of a high-impact succession management plan, and
Discuss the role of leadership and career development for creating bench strength.
The second portion of the program will include a panel of employers (including American Family, TomoTherapy, TDS and others) regarding the steps they have taken/are taking to prepare their company for the next generation of leaders.
Kim Lamoureux is a principal analyst at Bersin & Associates and directs the company’s research in leadership development and career & succession management.
