Workshop: Bringing Cultural Competence to Your Workplace - Presented by Gladis Benavides, President and Owner of BE, Inc. Presenter Bio
Keynote: Diversity, Inclusion, Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employment: Distinct,
Complementary, and Essential
Presented by Peter Bye, President, The MDB Group, Livingston, NJ
Diversity and inclusion (D&I) should be essential contributors to the sustained success of all organizations! We all know, however, that this is not happening. Confusion reigns. Diversity and inclusion do build off the accomplishments of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Affirmative Action (AA). D&I, however, are all about business success and business opportunity whereas EEO and AA are all about compliance. In this session we will explore how each is distinct from the other, complementary to all others, and essential to your organization. Come learn more about each and in particular some new thinking that you can apply to accelerate your D&I results.
You will learn:
About how diversity, inclusion, EEO, and affirmative action are distinct, complementary, and essential to your organization’s success.
The real business potential of diversity and inclusion (D&I) regardless of whether your customers are consumers or other organizations.
A new way to think about diversity and inclusion that will help you engage your CEO.
The keynote will help clarify your thinking about diversity, inclusion, equal employment opportunity, and affirmative action. You will see how they interrelate and new possibilities to apply leading-edge thinking about D&I within your organization. You will become a more-valuable resource to your CEO when you learn about applying a “people and workplace lens” to your CEO’s business objectives.
