Presentation Description

Formerly known as the Wednesday In The Park, the new “My GMA SHRM Toolbox” sessions are geared to provide HR professionals at all levels an opportunity to further their learning in the core areas of Human Resources.  The Toolbox session is meant to be a facilitated & interactive discussion to assist in this learning experience.

Managers come from different walks of life, possess various characteristics, and have their own philosophies regarding how to manage a business and their employees. Consequently, many employers find themselves embroiled in litigation because they have made common, but very harmful, mistakes during the employment relationship. In a broad sense, there are many common mistakes made by human resource professionals and managers at different levels and in various types of businesses. Learn the most common mistakes when dealing with your employees - and how to avoid them.

This program will include:

  • Identifying the most common workplace mistakes made when dealing with your employees

  • Applying practical human resource practices and procedures to minimize legal liability to the organization

  • Providing effective, practical and common-sense management training to avoid workplace litigation
