Formerly known as the Wednesday In The Park, the new “My GMA SHRM Toolbox” sessions are geared to provide HR professionals at all levels an opportunity to further their learning in the core areas of Human Resources. Eleven years of Human Resources experience with American Girl/Mattel and General Mills.
Current role: 3 years as American Girl’s Recruitment Manager. Role includes:
Leading professional and seasonal recruitment for American Girl headquarters.
Provide HR generalist support for Business Intelligence team.
Previous experience: 8 years with General Mills – roles included:
4 plant locations (2 union and 2 non-union) as HR Manager (generalist)
Recruitment Manager in Headquarters for Supply Chain (mostly campus recruitment)
Masters of Labor Relations and Human Resources from Michigan State University
Bachelors of Science in Business from Indiana University
HR Internship with IBM
Career Development Center experience at Indiana University and Michigan State University
Lisa Grinde, American Girl Human Resource Manager
Thirteen years of Human Resource experience with American Girl

Provide HR Generalist support (including recruitment) for the Design & Development, Marketing Communications, and Public Relations departments

14 years at American Girl, (Nov 1990 - Mar 2005) 11 years specifically in recruitment. Held 8 different positions of increasing responsibility over the course of 14 years, served as recruitment manager 1999 to 2005. Hired primarily creative positions - editors, art directors, graphic designers, copywriters.
3 years at TomoTherapy (April 2005 to Present). More than 500 hires since her start, positions are primarily technical - software developers, engineers, scientists, physicists. Started as Technical Recruiter, now HR Manager - Recruitment. Also responsible for TomoTherapy's compensation programs, Affirmative Action officer, and HR Generalist for Research and Med Physics.
