Formerly known as the Wednesday In The Park, the new “My GMA SHRM Toolbox” sessions are geared to provide HR professionals at all levels an opportunity to further their learning in the core areas of Human Resources.  The Toolbox session is meant to be a facilitated & interactive discussion to assist in this learning experience.

 

With a talent war upon us, employers are looking for new ways to attract new talent to their organizations. In this Toolbox session, come hear success stories of local employers who are using the hottest market trends in recruitment, selection, and retention.

Rennie Piontek, American Girl, Recruitment Manager

  • Eleven years of Human Resources experience with American Girl/Mattel and General Mills.
  • Current role: 3 years as American Girl’s Recruitment Manager. Role includes:
    • Leading professional and seasonal recruitment for American Girl headquarters.
    • Provide HR generalist support for Business Intelligence team.
  • Previous experience: 8 years with General Mills – roles included:
    • 4 plant locations (2 union and 2 non-union) as HR Manager (generalist)
    • Recruitment Manager in Headquarters for Supply Chain (mostly campus recruitment)
  • Masters of Labor Relations and Human Resources from Michigan State University
  • Bachelors of Science in Business from Indiana University
  • HR Internship with IBM
  • Career Development Center experience at Indiana University and Michigan State University

 

Lisa Grinde, American Girl Human Resource Manager

  • Thirteen years of Human Resource experience with American Girl
  • Current role includes:
    • Provide HR Generalist support (including recruitment) for the Design & Development, Marketing Communications, and Public Relations departments
    • Facilitate company-wide training programs
    • Lead company sponsored events & activities
    • Supervise reception and cafeteria employees
  • Bachelors of Science in Textiles Science from the University of Wisconsin – Madison
  • PHR Certified
  • DDI Certified

 

Dan Sodemann, PHR, University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics, Human Resources Staffing Consultant

  • Graduated from UW-Madison with degrees in Psychology and History
  • 8 years of recruitment experience. 3 years at UW Hospital recruiting for a diverse set of departments including Environment Services, Clinical Labs, Radiology, IT, Plant Engineering, Health Link (Epic), Health Information Services and Security.

 

Donna Schulz, TomoTherapy, HR Manager-Recruitment

  • Bachelors and Masters in Education from UW Stevens Point
  • MBA from Edgewood College
  • 11 years teaching elementary school
  • 14 years at American Girl, (Nov 1990 - Mar 2005) 11 years specifically in recruitment. Held 8 different positions of increasing responsibility over the course of 14 years, served as recruitment manager 1999 to 2005. Hired primarily creative positions - editors, art directors, graphic designers, copywriters.
  • 3 years at TomoTherapy (April 2005 to Present). More than 500 hires since her start, positions are primarily technical - software developers, engineers, scientists, physicists. Started as Technical Recruiter, now HR Manager - Recruitment. Also responsible for TomoTherapy's compensation programs, Affirmative Action officer, and HR Generalist for Research and Med Physics.

 

Dean Woldstad, Stark Company Realtors, Relocation Director

  • Educational background: Bachelor of Arts studies in Organizational Management and Communication, Concordia College, St. Paul, MN
  • Certified Relocation Professional (CRP) designation
  • Holds a Residential Real Estate license and has worked in the real estate industry since 1979
  • Previously spent 14 years in leadership roles in the Relocation industry representing one of the largest Third Party Relocation Companies in the world.
  • Member the national Employee Relocation Council (ERC) and the Wisconsin Employee Relocation Council (WERC)
  • Member of Leading Real Estate Companies of the World

 

 

Jake Siudzinski, Stark Company Realtors, Business Development Director

  • Educational background: Bachelors of Arts from the University of Wisconsin – Madison
  • Current role: Stark Relocation Division, Business Development
  • Member of Leading Real Estate Companies of the World
  • Nearly four years of recruitment and business development experience with Adecco Employment Services. Experience in temporary and permanent placements in numerous industries, including: office, light industrial, legal, technical, customer service, and financial.
