Presentation Description

With the word “recession” on the minds of everyone these days, it is important that we energize and engage our leaders and employees to obtain peak performance, no matter what the economy brings. Soaring above your competition and gaining competitive advantage is what employee engagement should be about. However, you might not guess that by studying employee engagement. It is all too easy to get confused about this subject as, despite being extremely popular, there is still no agreement on even the definition of employee engagement.

In order to sort through some of the “noise” and answer the question “engaged in what” – or what really drives long-term organization performance, Dr. Welbourne will share results of a number of major research initiatives on how organizations increase long-term competitive advantage. These studies, which resulted in deep understanding of the way employee energy and engagement work, provide you with insights about the engagement process and what you can do to increase performance, even when recession may be looming or directly hitting your firm. She also will discuss hot “off the press” data from the Leadership Pulse™ project (bi-monthly survey of over 6,000 global leaders). Through a combination of Dr. Welbourne’s sharing her findings with us, your interacting with the data in small groups, and reviewing best practices, you will walk away with concrete actions and tools to help the employees and leaders within your own organization.
