Speaker Biography:
With a formal education in nursing, Melody Hope began her insurance career in 1977 as a self-funded claims examiner for a third party administrator in Iowa City, Iowa. Given her medical background, a specialization in health insurance seemed the natural choice when she made the transition into insurance sales in 1986.
Melody joined Hausmann Insurance in January 1992 as the manager of the Employee Benefits Division, in 1995 was appointed to the Executive Planning Team and in January of 1999 was promoted to Partner in the firm.
Melody’s clients range in size from 20 to 750 employees and include all types of businesses such as manufacturing, Not-for-Profit, service corporations, hospitality and financial services companies.
Melody is a member of the Greater Madison Area Society for Human Resource Management, (SHRM) and sits on the Agent Advisory Boards for Physicians Plus HMO and Unity Health Plans and have served on the boards of Midwest Security Administrators, Dean Health Plans and The Alliance. Currently she is Education Chair and on the Board of Directors of Wisconsin Association of Health Underwriters.
She volunteers for Hospice Care, Inc. primarily serving on their Speaker’s Bureau. She also has served on the Board of Directors for Vocational Consulting Services, most recently as the President. She is on the Board of Directors for The Boys and Girls Club of Dane County and a member of the Finance and Administration Committee of the Village of DeForest, where she lives with her husband and children, Sam, 17 and Sarah, 14.
