Wednesday in the Park Series

THE NEW DYNAMICS OF IMMIGRATION—FINDING THE WAY BETWEEN GETTING TOUGH AND GETTING EMPLOYEES

Presented by Grant Sovern of Quarles & Brady and Bob Gregg with Boardman Law Firm

November 8, 2006

The Wednesday in the Park Series is Sponsored by Boardman Law Firm and A.G. Edwards

The current national debate on comprehensive immigration reform has led to changes in government attitude in the areas of I-9 compliance and enforcement while demand for hiring professional-level foreign nationals remains quite high.
We will discuss strategies for dealing with increased government enforcement actions in the area of I-9 compliance as well as the proposed Department of Homeland Security regulation on added employer responsibilities regarding Social Security Administration “no-match” letters.
We will also explore alternative avenues to hiring professional foreign nationals at a time when the government has run out of H1B visas and there is an extremely long backlog for green cards, and bring you up to date on some of the hot issues in immigration/national origin discrimination laws.
