Did

.49% of working caregivers will move from
full- to part-time status, quit, or retire early because
of care giving responsibilities. Another 22% will take
a leave of absence.
As
the aging population increases, so does the number of
employees who take care of older or disabled relatives.
This session explores how human resource professionals
can increase their companies' understanding and quantify
the workplace issues, impacts and costs associated with
an aging population and workforce, and the burgeoning
numbers of working caregivers, while - at the same time
- reduce their costs by providing support to their caregiver
employees.
HR
professionals are in a pivotal position to introduce
effective and inexpensive solutions to help employers
contain costs and retain workers, while helping employees
who juggle job and family care giving duties. You can
assess the need, and introduce or enhance "caregiver-
friendly" policies, programs and benefits tailored
to your company.
Supporting
working caregivers is smart business. More companies
are doing it because of the growing recognition that
care giving can directly affect company earnings through
its impact on employee job performance, time lost from
work, reduce health care costs, and increase the ability
to remain on the job.
