Hearings before the Unemployment Compensation and Worker's Compensation Divisions can be difficult, complicated and downright nerve wracking. In this program, we will present two experienced administrative law judges who will share with you the keys to proper preparation for UC and WC cases. You will come away with critical information on proper documentation, the necessity of witnesses, the need for medical information, and other key aspects of properly preparing for UC and WC cases. Regardless of whether you are directly involved in your organization's UC and WC cases, you will come away a more knowledgeable HR professional.
Presenters: Gretchen Mrozinski has been employed as an Unemployment Insurance Administrative Law Judge since 1998 and conducts UI hearings throughout Wisconsin. Prior to working for the State, Gretchen worked in private practice focusing on insurance defense and municipal law. She received her B.S. from the UW-Stevens Point in 1992 and her law degree from the UW-Madison in 1996.
Janine M. Smiley has been an Administrative Law Judge with the Department of Workforce Development for 21 years. She has been in the Worker's Compensation Division for the past 15 years.
