• Student Scholarship
All scholarship applications must be postmarked by December 2nd, 2016, to be considered.
The Greater Madison Area Society for Human Resource Management (GMA SHRM) has established a scholarship program encouraging the continual pursuit of achieving an education in the human resource field.
  • There will be two $750 non-renewable scholarships awarded to eligible Wisconsin college students
Eligibility Requirements
  • Enrolled in a full-time, business related undergraduate program, such as human resources or related course of study at a Wisconsin college or university
  • Current member of a SHRM student chapter or member of a related business organization preferred
  • An overall GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Students who have already received full scholarships to attend a University are not eligible to apply.
Scholarship Selection Criteria
  • All-around academic standing
  • Participation in university and community activities
  • Demonstration of leadership qualities
  • Interest in the human resources field
  • Preference will be given to Human Resource Management majors and those with relevant and related work experience.
How to Apply
  • A purpose statement one page in length describing why the applicant is pursuing a degree in human resources or related course of study
  • Current resume
  • List all school activities, including SHRM and relevant organizations, in which you have participated during your college experience. List all community activities in which you have participated without pay.  Note all special awards, honors, and offices held. Include participation in any research projects as well.
  • Transcript (official or unofficial)

GMA SHRM has the sole responsibility for selecting recipients based on criteria as set forth in the scholarship guidelines.  This application becomes property of GMA SHRM.  GMA SHRM recommends you keep a copy in your files. By electronically submitted this application, I acknowledge decisions of GMA SHRM are final.  I certify that I meet the basic eligibility requirements of the program as described in the brochure and the information provided is complete and accurate to the best of my knowledge.  If requested, I agree to provide proof of information I have given on this form.  Falsification of information may result in termination of any scholarship granted.
All applicants will be notified in January 2017.  Scholarship payments will be made directly to the student.
