What to expect...

  • Back by popular demand, Ellen Bartkowiak from UW Madison’s Evening & Executive MBA Career Management Ctr. will lead our program which will start with a short session on how to get the most out of any networking event…then we’ll get our networking going!
  • Appetizers provided with a cash bar!
  • The evening will start with a short educational session on how to get the most out of any networking event.
  • The structured format will have you rotating to get introduced to someone new every 3 minutes or so, so that you can maximize the amount of new contacts you make that night.
  • The facilitator will make sure to keep it LIVELY & FUN!
  • After the structured networking there will also be time for unstructured networking.

The GMA SHRM Philanthropy Committee is supporting Operation Homefront by collecting items for care packages to send to troops now mainly stationed in Afghanistan. Chapter members can bring any item on the Operation Homefront list to a Strategic Summit or Toolbox and drop it in the designated donation box.

To support the SHRM Foundation, the committee will also be collecting the following items in new or gently used condition throughout the program year to hold a book sale at the GMA SHRM Human Capital Conference on May 15, 2012 .

Our Facilitator

Whether you are focused on a goal or exploring your options, Ellen Bartkowiak, is an empathetic and hard hitting career counselor that will help you reach an answer. As the current Associate Director of MBA Career Management Center at the Wisconsin School of Business, Ellen works with the Evening and Executive MBA Students to achieve their career goals. As a certified career coach and career counselor, Ellen coaches and guides mid-career professionals through their individual sessions and workshops to help them pursue their career goals that best represent their unique values, personalities and strengths. As an experienced career counselor, she brings over 15 years of experience to the table. She has her Career Coaching Certificate from the Career Coach Academy, a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and a Masters’ degree in Counseling from University of Wisconsin-Platteville. When she’s not working at the Business School, she’s either teaching Pilates Classes or playing with her two boys; Jake and Cooper.
