GMA SHRM Awards Professionals Scholarship

GMA SHRM has established a professional scholarship program encouraging continuing education in the human resource field. The scholarship recipient was selected by the Scholarship Committee based on demonstration of leadership qualities and interest in the human resources field, GMA SHRM participation, and a dedication to the advancement of the HR field.

Mary LaFrancois, SPHR, has been selected for the GMA Professionals' Scholarship. Mary is the Compensation and Benefits Director at University of Wisconsin Medical Foundation, and is pursuing her Masters in Organization and Management from Capella University. In addition to her 18 years of human resources human resources experience in health care, manufacturing, and consulting, she is a past president of GMA SHRM. Mary was the past At-Large Director on SHRM State Council and is currently the District Director South. Mary has invested endless hours volunteering for SHRM, including co-chairing the programming committee for the state conference in 1999 and 2003.

GMA SHRM Awards Two Student Scholarships

GMA SHRM has established a scholarship program encouraging the continual pursuit of achieving an education in the human resource field. The scholarship recipients were selected based upon their all-around academic standing, participation in university and community activities, demonstration of leadership qualities and interest in the human resources field.

Amanda Leyes (UW-Whitewater) and Ann Bomba (UW-Madison) have been selected for the GMA Student Scholarship. Amanda is the President of Whitewater's SHRM chapter. Amanda is also a HR Intern with Harley-Davidson in Milwaukee. Ann is the Co-President of Madison's SHRM chapter. Ann has interned with Manpower International, Inc. and Active International, Inc. Both look forward to joining the professional HR world in May after graduation.
